Authoritative technical answers from Aris Foundry engineering specialists regarding casting metallurgy, EN124 compliance, tolerances, and custom OEM manufacturing.
Grey cast iron contains sharp flake graphite, offering excellent acoustic damping, high thermal conductivity, and machinability, but very low elongation (<1%).
Ductile iron is inoculated with magnesium causing graphite to precipitate as spherical nodules. This eliminates internal stress risers, yielding tensile strength up to 700 MPa and elongation up to 18% matching cast carbon steel.
We manufacture municipal castings across all EN 124 classes: A15 (1.5 tonne pedestrian), B125 (12.5 tonne car parks), C250 (25 tonne kerbside channels), D400 (40 tonne heavy carriageways), E600 (60 tonne docks/industrial), and F900 (90 tonne airport runways).
Every furnace heat is verified by 24-channel optical emission spectrometry (OES). We perform Universal Testing Machine (UTM) tensile/elongation tests, Brinell hardness checks, magnetic particle inspection (MPI), ultrasonic testing, and hydrostatic pressure testing up to 25 bar.
Yes. We regularly manufacture according to ASTM A48 / A536, BS EN 1561 / 1563, ISO 1083 / 2531 / 9523, DIN 1691 / 1693, and IS 210 / 1865 specifications for international buyers.
Custom pattern tooling and first-article prototype development take 2 to 3 weeks depending on part complexity. Full containerized batch production and export shipping take 3 to 5 weeks from sample sign-off.
Yes. Our in-house machine shop operates CNC turning centers, vertical machining centers (VMC), and boring mills. Coatings include anti-corrosive bitumen dip, epoxy coating (FBE), zinc primer, and hot-dip galvanizing exceeding 250 microns.
We export to Europe, the Middle East, North America, and Southeast Asia. Castings are packed on ISPM-15 certified heat-treated wooden pallets, steel-strapped, shrink-wrapped, and stuffed with Indian Customs Self-Sealing certification at Baidyabati Works.
